There's actually enough bands doing that s...Ah yes! There's actually enough bands doing that sort of metal to have a sub-genre of its own. Dragonforce is similar. After the initial novelty of 'oooh fast guitars!' and 'ahh power metal with blast beats!' wore off I realised this was an incredibly putrid band. And the leads while blazingly fast were ass. And the keyboard solos made Jordan Rudess' worst excesses seem tasteful exercises in dignity and restraint.
